PTDI delivers one unit of CN235-220 Military Transport for Nepalese Army and today on October 30, 2019, this aircraft has performed its ferry flight from PTDI Fixed Wing Hangar, Bandung, to Kathmandu, Nepal, that is planned to be arrived on November 02, 2019.
PTDI President Director, Elfien Goentoro, Deputy for Trade and Industry Coordination, Bambang Adi Winarso represented the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation and Electronics (ILMATE) Industries, Harjanto represented the Minister of Industry along with Senior Vice President I of the Export Financing Institution Indonesia (LPEI) or Indonesia Eximbank, Yadi Jaya Ruchandi was present to review the preparation and release of the CN235-220 Military Transport ferry flight which would then be operated by the Nepalese Army.
Capt. Esther Gayatri Saleh as a Test Pilot in Command and Flight Instructor (acting as Chief of the Mission), and Capt. Ervan Gustanto as a Copilot flew the CN235-220 aircraft from Husein Sastranegara Airport, Bandung to Medan, then continued to Yangon, Myanmar, then resumed back to Dhaka, Bangladesh and flew back to Kathmandu, Nepal as the final destination. The aircraft will carry out advanced Flight Training and Final Acceptance Flight by the Nepalese Army.
The signing of the procurement contract for this one unit of CN235-220 Military Transport aircraft was carried out on June 16, 2017, with the contract number MGO/Fixed Wing/073/74/65 between PTDI and the Nepalese Army.
The CN235-220 Military Transport aircraft export program for the Nepalese Army financing part of its working capital is funded by the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI) or Indonesia Eximbank with the National Interest Account (NIA) scheme.
The use of the NIA scheme from LPEI or Indonesia Eximbank is a special assignment from the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia to provide aircraft export financing, where LPEI or Indonesia Eximbank also supports PTDI in penetrating markets in Africa and South Asia.
CN235-220 aircraft, is a multirole aircraft with a carrying capacity of 48 passengers that can be used for several missions, ranging from surveillance, maritime patrols and the transport of armed forces.
Dated today, PTDI has successfully produced and delivered 68 units of CN235 aircrfat to many local and international customers, from 285 units total of CN235 series population in world. In Indonesia, this aircraft is being operated by Indonesian Air Force and Indonesian Navy, while foreign operators are Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Korea Selatan, Pakistan, Uni Emirat Arab, Senegal and Nepal.

The design process, testing, certification until the production process are all executed by Indonesian nation. The N219 aircraft has the ability to take off on a short and unpaved runway, so it can be the connectivity of inter-island, especially in Pioneer areas.
