PTDI Targets Sending First N219 Plane in 2022

Jakarta - PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) (PTDI) targets to be able to immediately process the mass production of N219 aircraft. Currently, the company is waiting for a type certificate before it is carried out in stages.


Then, the delivery process for the first N219 aircraft could be carried out in 2022 until 2023.

"The possibility of the first delivery target is 2022. So the production takes one and a half years. Because there are already 10 that have contracts that are not yet coming. So we have to fill in the existing flight slot from the slot we have," said PTDI President Director Elfien Goentoro. AFP at the Parliament Building, Monday (03/02/2020).
The 10 contracts referred to today are still in the Framework Agreement which is expected to be a purchase / procurement contract.

Elfien said that until now a series of aircraft flight trials are still being conducted to ensure that the aircraft is safe before being used by the public.

"We have flown the flight test and we have shown it in the film, and we showed it (in the RDP). We have also conducted flight test for 1 engine off, both taking off and landing the hardest," he said.

Although there are obstacles, said Elfien, it can be overcome well by the N219 aircraft dubbed Nurtanio, so that when flying it can be stable.

"If it takes off, it must have 1 engine off, if 1 engine off means the power is right, if we can't compensate from the flight control side, it will turn. This (N219) is straight, it means that it is suitable and means it is in accordance with safety, "he added.

It is known, to get this certification not only by flying the aircraft for 300 hours, but also conducting a development flight test to find out whether the performance of the aircraft according to its design.

"So it's a requirement rather than being certificated," he explained.
