PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus to explore the expansion of Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) capabilities for helicopters and military aircraft delivered from PTDI. This MoU is a continuation of the understanding signed in September 2022 on Aerostructure production. The signing of the MoU was witnessed by the Indonesian Minister of Defense, Prabowo Subianto at Function Room Hall D Indo Defence Expo and Forum 2022.

In this MoU, Airbus Defence and Space and Airbus Helicopters will work together with PTDI in an MRO service improvement program that can make operations at PTDI more efficient. PTDI currently supports a number of fleets operated by the TNI and other Government Agencies for CN235 and NC212i aircraft as well as cooperation products with Airbus Defence and Space such as C295 and H225M.

"PTDI is developing new MRO business potential and we were able to reach this initial agreement with Airbus. We believe that this cooperation can enhance PTDI's capabilities as an MRO service provider in the helicopter and aircraft segments throughout Indonesia and beyond," said Gita Amperiawan, President Director of PTDI.

"Airbus has been a partner of PTDI for four decades. We are committed to providing PTDI with the best products and services to support its business success, through enhancing capabilities in areas such as MRO and training. Airbus is pleased to support PTDI in expanding its helicopter and aircraft MRO-related business in Indonesia," said Dani Adriananta, Airbus Chief Representative of Indonesia.

There is also a possibility to expand the scope of this MoU to support other Airbus products such as the H145M. More than 500 units of the military variant of the H145M are operated by military forces worldwide, making it the preferred multirole light helicopter of countries such as Cyprus, Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg, Serbia, Thailand and the United States.
