PTDI Searches for Owners of Two Aircraft Parked for 20 Years, No Trace of Assets Found
BANDUNG, KOMPAS.com - Two aircraft, labeled Bouraq and Camar, have been parked on the PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) property in Bandung for 20 years. PTDI is now attempting to locate the rightful owners of the two aircraft through an official announcement as part of the legal process before taking further action. Adi Prastowo, Manager of Corporate Communications and Institutional Relations at PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero), stated that the two aircraft entered the PTDI property around 2005, and the final owner remains unknown. "The announcement above is our legal requirement for further action. As stated in the announcement, there may be a final legal owner for the two aircraft," Adi said in a written statement on Tuesday (June 9, 2026).
Ownership Remains Mysterious. According to Adi, PTDI has attempted to trace the ownership of the two aircraft by contacting several parties suspected of having a connection.
One of them is PT ANI. However, the company stated that it had no connection to the two aircraft in question. "We have written to PT ANI, which has now changed ownership. PT ANI has responded that it has no connection to the two aircraft," he said.
The investigation then continued to PT Bouraq, whose name was printed on one of the aircraft. However, that company has since been declared bankrupt. PTDI contacted the curator handling the company's bankruptcy case. "There was information that PT PANN (also a state-owned enterprise) was the buyer or funding for the procurement of the aircraft. We visited PT PANN's office in Tebet, Jakarta. There was no written explanation, but in February 2026, PT PANN was liquidated by the government. Two weeks ago, the curator visited PTDI and stated that the two aircraft were not listed in PT PANN's asset records," he said.
Previously, the curator for PT Bouraq also stated that the two aircraft were not listed as company assets during the bankruptcy proceedings. Parked on the Apron of Hangar N219: To date, both aircraft remain on the PTDI premises, parked on the apron in front of the new Hangar N219. Despite having been there for two decades, the ownership of the two aircraft remains unclear.
Therefore, PTDI is opening the door for any parties who believe they have rights to the aircraft labeled Bouraq and Camar to provide information and legally prove their ownership. This step is being taken to ensure that the handling of the two aircraft can be carried out in accordance with applicable legal provisions.
