PTDI Collaborates with Paguyuban Pasundan to Launch DI Goes to School and DI Edutainment Education Programs

BANDUNG, WWW.PASJABAR.COM — As part of the 50th Anniversary celebration of PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero), PTDI is collaborating with Paguyuban Pasundan, the oldest Sundanese cultural organization in West Java, to organize the DI Goes to School and DI Edutainment education programs on Saturday (August 29, 2026).

Chairman of the Central Executive Board of Paguyuban Pasundan, Prof. Dr. H.M. Didi Turmudzi, M.Si., and PTDI President Director Gita Amperiawan signed the cooperation agreement on the main stage during the culmination of PTDI’s 50th Anniversary celebration.

The partnership marks an important momentum for PTDI and Paguyuban Pasundan to advance and strengthen Indonesia’s aerospace sector through education.

PTDI and Paguyuban Pasundan Introduce Students to the Aerospace Industry

Chairman of the Central Executive Board of Paguyuban Pasundan, Prof. Dr. H.M. Didi Turmudzi, said the partnership between PTDI and Paguyuban Pasundan in the education sector aims to introduce the aerospace industry to students and university students.

“This cooperation can motivate students and university students to enter the workforce or pursue further education in the aerospace field,” Didi Turmudzi explained.

Didi said introducing aerospace knowledge could also raise awareness, interest, and motivation among students and university students to work or pursue further education in the field.

“As PTDI also hopes, by introducing aerospace knowledge, students and university students will develop awareness, interest, and motivation to enter the workforce or pursue further education in the aerospace sector,” he continued.

In addition to its cooperation with PTDI, Paguyuban Pasundan has also established a joint commitment with the West Java Regional Government, PTDI, and PT Santana Manggala Karya to develop the production and productivity of sorghum commodities in West Java.

PTDI Inaugurates Dirgantara Indonesia Training Center

As part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations of PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero), PTDI also inaugurated the Dirgantara Indonesia Training Center within the PTDI production complex. Indonesian Minister of Manpower Prof. Yassierli, Ph.D., officially inaugurated the training center.

PTDI President Director Gita Amperiawan said the modern aerospace training center is part of PTDI’s strategic efforts to develop reliable, highly specialized aviation industry professionals equipped with international certifications.

“In its development, PTDI has held intensive discussions with several universities, including Universitas Pasundan (Unpas), with which we have just established a partnership, as well as the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and Universitas Nurtanio (Unnur),” Gita explained.

PTDI operates the training center at its Bandung facility and has established 17 specialized training programs. To date, the programs have trained 140 skilled participants. Several graduates have also been sent directly by PTDI to strengthen the industrial workforce at Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI).

PTDI has also demonstrated its commitment to employment opportunities by providing 150 internship positions for young people.

In the near future, PTDI plans to expand strategic cooperation with other international partners to accelerate aviation technology transfer.

Manpower Minister Promotes the “Skill, Not School” Concept

Meanwhile, Indonesian Minister of Manpower Prof. Yassierli, Ph.D., conducted a working visit to PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) in Bandung and officially inaugurated the PTDI Training Center.

During his visit, Yassierli expressed his pride in PTDI for its contributions to the country, including contributions that have personally benefited him.

The Minister highlighted major shifts in the global labor market. According to him, recent data shows that 63 percent of companies report difficulties in finding workers with the appropriate skills.

Future challenges are also becoming increasingly evident. Projections indicate that 50 percent of job types could change over the next 10 years due to technological disruption and artificial intelligence (AI).

In response to these conditions, Yassierli promoted the concept of “Skill, Not School.”

According to him, formal education remains important, but demonstrated skills and real-world experience are becoming increasingly crucial in today’s era.

“A diploma is important, but it is not enough. What matters most today is what you can do, what you have done, and what your portfolio looks like. This is where skills, certification, and recognition become important,” the Minister of Manpower emphasized.

Ministry of Manpower Prepares Internship and Vocational Training Programs

To bridge the skills gap, the Ministry of Manpower is preparing two large-scale flagship programs.

The first is the National Internship Program. The Ministry of Manpower has allocated Rp4.2 trillion to fund the program. The government has also increased the participant quota from 100,000 to 150,000.

The Ministry of Manpower aims for internship graduates to have strong bargaining power in the labor market, so that within six months of completing the program, they will already have companies competing to recruit them.

The second program is the National Vocational Training Program, supported by a budget of Rp1.8 trillion. The program targets 300,000 senior high school and vocational high school graduates.

Participants will undergo intensive training for one to two months to develop practical skills required by the market, ranging from machining and lathe operations to practical electronics.

Prof. Yassierli expressed his strong appreciation for PTDI and other stakeholders, including Paguyuban Pasundan, for initiating these efforts with an initial cohort of 150 personnel.

The Minister of Manpower hopes that various centers of excellence will emerge in strategic locations across the country. These centers are expected to serve as “candradimuka”—intensive training grounds for developing and strengthening the capabilities of local workers. (Jbe)
