PTDI Partners with Drone Technology Manufacturer to Drive Export Market Expansion

In line with its experience in developing unmanned aerial platforms (drones) for various applications, PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Inovasi Solusi Transportasi Indonesia (FROGS Indonesia).

The MoU, which focuses on drone marketing and production for export markets, was signed on the second day of the Singapore Airshow 2026 at PTDI’s booth A-L31.

FROGS Indonesia is a company specializing in the development and manufacturing of drone technology, particularly for agricultural applications (sprayer drones), aerial mapping, cargo surveillance, and passenger drones.

The synergy between the two parties is expected to strengthen the development of drone solutions that are practical, adaptive, and aligned with user needs.

Through this MoU, PTDI and FROGS Indonesia agreed to collaborate on joint marketing and promotion of drone products for overseas markets, joint manufacturing, technology transfer, as well as research and development to enhance drone system performance and capabilities.

The collaboration also includes the exploration of each party’s capabilities, with PTDI playing a role in strengthening system development, utilizing manufacturing facilities, and providing support through its international marketing network. This includes potential support from Indonesian embassies abroad (KBRI) that require drone applications in the agricultural and livestock sectors.

PTDI’s Director of Commerce, Technology, and Development, Moh Arif Faisal, stated that the cooperation represents a strategic step for PTDI in expanding its unmanned aerial system capabilities, particularly in platform development, system integration, and manufacturing readiness for the global market.

Through this collaboration, PTDI aims to promote the development of drones that are not only aeronautically advanced, but also reliable in terms of system performance, mission flexibility, and readiness for various operational needs, including surveillance, mapping, and non-combat mission support.

“This synergy is expected to strengthen the independence of the national drone industry while enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesian products in the international market,” he added.

The collaboration with FROGS Indonesia further complements PTDI’s capabilities in developing Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) across various application segments. Previously, PTDI has developed several UAS platforms, including the Wulung UAS and the MALE Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) Elang Hitam, reflecting PTDI’s commitment to continuously building unmanned aerial technology capabilities.

Through these initiatives, PTDI adopts a comprehensive approach to UAS development, ranging from civilian applications such as agricultural drones to more advanced UAS technologies, in support of strengthening the national aerospace industry ecosystem.
