PTDI and Batam Aero Technic Strengthen Synergy in the National MRO Industry

Bandung, globalnetwork.id – PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) has established a partnership with Batam Aero Technic (BAT) to utilize resources to support aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) activities. The collaboration was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Friday (April 10th) in the Plenary Meeting Room, 9th Floor of the Nurtanio Building, PTDI Bandung, by PTDI's Director of Commerce, Technology & Development, Moh Arif Faisal, and BAT's Director, Capt. Daniel Putut Kuncoro Adi.

Through this agreement, PTDI and BAT will explore collaboration in utilizing and meeting needs related to aircraft maintenance and repair activities, by optimizing the resources of each party. This collaboration also forms part of PTDI's efforts to capture growth opportunities in the growing aircraft after-sales service market while strengthening PTDI's position within the aerospace industry value chain.

PTDI, as a national aerospace industry, has capabilities spanning design, testing, production, and maintenance, repair, and modification of aircraft. It is also an Authorized Maintenance Organization (AMO) capable of supporting MRO activities by providing technical personnel, maintenance facilities, equipment, and various other supporting facilities.

Meanwhile, BAT, with certification from the Indonesian Civil Aviation Authority (DGCA) No. 145D-914 and several other international certifications, has the capability to perform aircraft maintenance and repairs in accordance with applicable safety and quality standards. Furthermore, BAT has been trusted by various operators as a primary partner in aircraft maintenance, with full responsibility for managing the overall fleet maintenance.

Through our collaboration with PTDI, we see a significant opportunity to develop a workforce that is not only technically proficient but also understands import and export mechanisms, and is adaptable to technological developments, including digitalization, artificial intelligence, and robotics-based processes. BAT is also ready to partner with us in absorbing the best graduates from PTDI's training programs," said Capt. Daniel Putut Kuncoro Adi.

PTDI, through its Training Center, is certified as an Authorized Maintenance Training Organization (AMTO) and conducts various training programs in aircraft maintenance, including plans for basic certification training. In this regard, BAT has the potential to become an industry partner that can absorb these graduates.

PTDI's Director of Commerce, Technology & Development, Moh Arif Faisal, stated that this collaboration is a strategic step in strengthening PTDI's MRO service capabilities and opening up opportunities for future business expansion. "This collaboration not only focuses on utilizing each party's resources, but also forms part of PTDI's efforts to increase its competitiveness in the after-sales service sector. We see strong potential for synergy, both in terms of technical capabilities, human resource development, and market opportunities that can be developed together," he said.

This collaboration also provides added value in terms of industrial efficiency and future economic opportunities. By optimizing domestic resources, MRO service needs can be met more quickly and competitively. Furthermore, this synergy opens up job creation, improves the competency of the national workforce, and strengthens the aerospace industry supply chain, which has a direct impact on sustainable business growth.
