Showcasing the Elang Hitam Drone to the Thrill of Piloting the N219, PTDI Electrifies TNI Fair 2026 at Monas!
IndoAviation Plus – Visitors to the National Monument (Monas) grounds this weekend were treated to a cutting-edge aerospace technology exhibition. Commemorating the 81st anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) alongside PT Nusantara Turbin dan Propulsi (PT NTP) showcased a lineup of homegrown defense innovations at the TNI Fair 2026, held on September 19–20, 2026.
Currently, Asia and the Middle East are entering one of the largest infrastructure investment cycles in aviation history. Investors are set to pour up to US$240 billion into airport developments across the region. According to Airports Council International (ACI), these fresh airport investments will generate additional capacity for 1.24 billion passengers.
The primary attraction drawing crowds was located at the Ministry of Defense indoor booth No. 11. Rather than simply displaying the CN235, NC212i, N219, and helicopter lineups, PTDI introduced an interactive N219 cockpit demonstrator. Through this setup, visitors could explore various cockpit panel functions and experience the firsthand sensation of flying the aircraft like a professional pilot.
Moving to the outdoor display area, the Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Elang Hitam made a striking appearance alongside advanced rocket lineups. The presence of this sophisticated drone underscored PTDI's robust capabilities in developing systems for Indonesia's future defense requirements.
Notably, PTDI's innovations extend beyond military operations. Addressing Indonesia's geographical challenges as an archipelago, PTDI is exploring the development of air ambulance variants engineered on the proven NC212i and N219 platforms. This aeromedical evacuation concept opens broad collaborative opportunities with various agencies—including the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN)—to deliver critical healthcare services to remote and island regions more adaptively.
The high public turnout on the first day of the exhibition (19/9) was observed directly by PTDI President Director Gita Amperiawan and PTDI Director of Technology & Risk Management Ony Arifianto. The executive leadership attended specifically to welcome VIP guests and reinforce engagement with the TNI as PTDI's primary user.

PTDI's participation in the event stands as evidence of the company's commitment to maintaining its capacity to support the self-reliance of the national defense ecosystem.
