The Rise of the Defense Industry: PTDI Showcases Aircraft at the 80th Anniversary of the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI)
JawaPos.com – A number of aircraft and helicopters produced by PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI), which strengthen the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU), Navy (TNI AL), and Army (TNI AD), took part in celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI). These aircraft participated in the Aerial Demonstration at the National Monument (Monas), Central Jakarta, on Sunday (October 5).
Witnessed by President Prabowo Subianto, the CN235-220 aircraft and the AS565 Panther helicopter a result of PTDI’s collaboration with Airbus Helicopters participated in the aerial display.
The helicopter also performed a medical evacuation (medevac) procedure over several Indonesian Navy warships during the Sailing Pass and Sea Demonstration held earlier on Thursday (October 2).
"During today's main celebration of TNI's anniversary, various PTDI flagship products were showcased, including the NC212i and CN235-220 aircraft, as well as helicopters developed in collaboration with Bell Helicopters namely the Bell 412 and with Airbus Helicopters including the AS550 Fennec, AS365 Dauphin, NAS332 Super Puma, and EC725 Caracal," said PTDI’s Corporate Communication & Institutional Relations Manager, Adi Prastowo, in a statement from Jakarta on Sunday (October 5).
He explained that all these defense equipment (alutsista) units took part in a variety of missions including flypasts, parades (defiles), and carrying a giant national flag symbolizing unity and strength across the three branches of the military.
Since PTDI delivered its first unit to the Indonesian Armed Forces in 1976, Adi continued, PTDI's products have played a vital role in defense operations and humanitarian missions ranging from border surveillance, troop logistics support, search and rescue missions, to disaster relief distribution across the Indonesian archipelago.
“This year’s TNI anniversary is a real symbol of how the synergy between the Government, TNI, and the national defense industry continues to grow stronger,” said Adi.
He added that the government has continuously supported the development of the domestic defense industry through various arms procurement policies and strategic programs involving national industries.
As a part of this ecosystem, PTDI plays an important role in ensuring self-reliance in aerospace technology and in supporting the Indonesian Armed Forces’ operational readiness in the air defense sector.
The participation of PTDI’s aircraft and helicopters in the Sailing Pass and Aerial Demonstration during the TNI anniversary celebration not only reaffirms the capabilities of Indonesia’s aerospace industry but also showcases the synergy between local innovations and the professionalism of TNI soldiers.
“More than that, this participation reflects PTDI’s continued commitment to supporting Indonesia’s defense independence, strengthening the posture of the TNI, and safeguarding the sovereignty and integrity of the Republic of Indonesia,” Adi Prastowo concluded.
