PTDI and Polman Bandung Collaboration Promotes STEM Talent Development

Bandung (03/07) – PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) (PTDI), through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, continues to play an active role in supporting the development of superior human resources in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This commitment is realized through the holding of the Industrial Visit (DI Edutainment) and the 2026 Indonesian Talent Development Education Talkshow in collaboration with the Bandung Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman) and PT Reka Karsa Indonesia. The event, held at the Dharma Wanita Building and PTDI Bandung Production Area II, provides a first-hand learning experience about the world of the aerospace industry for young Indonesian talents.

Organized by the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas) of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), this program provides a learning platform for high-achieving young talents in the fields of STEM, coding, and artificial intelligence. As the host of the STEM program for secondary education, Polman Bandung facilitated development for 40 top students from seven provinces. They then had the opportunity to gain a closer look at the aircraft manufacturing process and understand the dynamics of the national aerospace industry through a visit to PTDI. Through the TJSL program, PTDI acted as an industry facilitator, connecting STEM learning promoted by the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education with an introduction to renewable energy concepts developed by Polman through direct observation experiences in the aerospace manufacturing environment.

Themed "Future Industrial Dynamics: Realizing Renewable Energy in the Aircraft Industry and Optimizing the Role of Humans in the AI ??Era," this activity provided participants with insights into the implementation of Green Aviation by PTDI's Forming Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor, Deni Afriatna, and a presentation on strengthening essential human skills in the era of artificial intelligence by Foresight-International Open University, Raihan Dary Henriana. In line with Puspresnas' focus on AI development, participants were equipped with strategies to become adaptive talents, creative problem solvers, and utilize AI as a supporting tool in facing the challenges of the workplace. The event then continued with a factory tour to observe the aircraft component manufacturing process and a visit to the PTDI Sales Mockup Gallery to gain a closer look at the company's flagship products.

"The aerospace industry continues to move towards increasingly advanced and sustainable technology. Therefore, the younger generation needs to be equipped not only with technical skills in the STEM field, but also with an innovative mindset, a concern for sustainability, and the ability to wisely utilize artificial intelligence. Through the TJSL program, PTDI hopes to bridge the gap between education and industry in developing Indonesia's future talent," said PTDI Corporate Secretary, Rommy Indah Jayanti.

By implementing the TJSL program, which focuses on developing the capacity of the younger generation, PTDI continues to strengthen its contribution to producing superior human resources ready to face future industrial challenges while supporting the creation of a competitive national industrial ecosystem.
