PTDI Officially Partners with ANI; Indonesia's Aircraft Maintenance Industry Ready to Compete in the Regional Market

DESKJABAR – PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) (PTDI) has officially entered into a strategic partnership with PT Aero Nusantara Indonesia (PT ANI) to strengthen the aircraft maintenance business—specifically the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) ecosystem—in Indonesia. The agreement was formalized through the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) on the second day of the Indonesia International Smart Aviation & Airport Expo (IISAR) 2026 in Jakarta, Friday, July 10, 2026. The agreement was signed by PTDI’s Director of Commerce and Business Development, Moh. Arif Faisal, and the President Director of PT Aero Nusantara Indonesia, Otto Sigit Budianto. Through this partnership, the two companies will develop various synergistic opportunities in the MRO sector, ranging from the utilization of hangars, human resources, and work tools to hangar equipment and logistics facilities, in accordance with operational needs and applicable regulations. This collaboration is expected to enhance the capacity and competitiveness of the national MRO industry while strengthening the independence of Indonesia's aviation sector, enabling it to compete at the regional level. "PTDI believes that strengthening the national MRO industry can only be achieved through mutually beneficial collaboration among domestic industry players. The partnership with PT Aero Nusantara Indonesia serves as a foundation to optimize the utilization of facilities, human resource competencies, and technical capabilities possessed by both companies," said PTDI’s Director of Commerce and Business Development, Moh. Arif Faisal. He hopes that this synergy will not only improve the capacity and quality of national MRO services but also open up greater opportunities for Indonesia to become a key player in the aircraft maintenance industry within the Asian region. Optimizing Facilities and Certified Human Resources: PTDI assesses that strengthening the MRO ecosystem depends not only on adequate facilities but also on industrial capabilities and human resources certified to international airworthiness standards. Collaboration among national industry players is considered a crucial step toward delivering MRO services that are increasingly competitive, efficient, and sustainable.

Through its Aircraft Services (ACS) unit, PTDI has long served as a provider of MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) services for various types of aircraft and helicopters, catering to both military and civil requirements. Backed by international-standard facilities, experienced personnel, and capabilities ranging from maintenance, repair, and overhaul to aircraft modification and capability upgrades, PTDI’s ACS continues to strengthen its position as a key pillar of the national MRO industry. Otto Sigit Budianto, President Director of PT Aero Nusantara Indonesia (PT ANI), stated that this partnership represents a strategic move to bolster synergy within the national MRO ecosystem. “This partnership is a positive step for PT ANI in strengthening synergy within the national MRO ecosystem. Through this collaboration, PT ANI supports the enhancement of Indonesia’s MRO service capacity and competitiveness—leveraging our existing capabilities, certifications, and approvals—while consistently prioritizing safety, quality, and compliance,” he said. Moving forward, PTDI and PT ANI will follow up on the agreement through various collaborative programs aligned with the business development needs of both companies. This synergy is expected to foster a national MRO ecosystem that is increasingly integrated, competitive, and sustainable, while simultaneously reinforcing Indonesia’s position as a regional hub for aircraft maintenance services.
